Liveball Explained
To advance to the Champion side, the Challenger team needs to secure four points before the Champion team achieves two.
In Liveball, there's no serving involved.
Points kick off with the instructor feeding the ball, followed by a cross-court exchange.
The activity spans 1.5 hours, divided into three half-hour parts, each starting with a specific feed/shot by the instructor to the challengers:
First part: Forehand crosscourt
Second part: Backhand crosscourt
Third part: Inside out forehand
For the majority of the game, until the last 15 minutes, the initial return cannot be intercepted by the Champions Team’s net player; it must be played by the one at the baseline.
Challengers scoring directly from the initial feed become Champions immediately.
Should a Challenger miss the first two feeds, they move to the queue's end, while their net player teams up with a new partner.
Victorious Challengers switch to the Champion side, with players swapping sides to facilitate quick position changes for ensuing challenges.
With seven players, three off-court players queue up, ready to swap in as Challengers change sides or lose, maintaining dynamic gameplay.
For groups of five or six, the one or two not playing line up at the baseline, ready to step in based on the game’s flow.
Defeated Challengers rotate positions, with the baseline player moving up and a new player joining from the line. Winners heading to the Champion side prompt a similar rotation among the previous Champions.
This game offers a blend of speed, competition, high-quality doubles practice, and excellent cardiovascular exercise.
